Who is Gérard Marié
Gérard graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris in 1972, specializing in graphic arts and illustration. He spent decades as an illustrator for Hachette, Gallimard and other publishing houses. In 2005, after completing his training to become a Professor of Art History, he began teaching at Sciences Po and other prestigious Parisian universities.
As an art educator and an artist himself, Gérard manages to captivate his audience by recounting fascinating anecdotes about artists and their work. Gérard often gives lectures on the importance of making art accessible to a wide audience. When he is not reviewing Artips stories, he advocates for developing art history programs in French public schools.
